At Watkins Counselling & Wellness, you can choose from four main therapy areas to begin your journey:

  1. Individual Therapy

    Support for your personal growth, mental health, and emotional wellbeing in a safe, one-on-one space.

  2. Couples Therapy

    Helping partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship.

  3. Family Therapy

    Working together to improve family connections, understand dynamics, and solve challenges.

  4. EMDR Therapy

    An evidence-based approach to processing trauma and distressing memories for healing and growth.


BOOKING STEPS WITHIN EACH THERAPY AREA

Each area offers a structured path to support you effectively:

  1. Step One: Free 20-minute phone or video consultation (optional)

    This is a no-pressure opportunity to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit. Clients are welcome but not required to attend this consultation before booking their initial therapy session.

  2. Step Two: Initial Psychotherapy Assessment

    A full session to explore your story, challenges, and goals, and to plan your therapy.

  3. Step Three: Attachment Interview (if appropriate)

    If indicated during the initial session, we’ll schedule a focused attachment assessment to deepen understanding and guide treatment.

  4. Step 4: Routine Therapy Sessions

    Regular sessions offered in 30, 60, or 90-minute formats tailored to your needs.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

A one-on-one psychotherapy session focused on your goals, challenges, and mental health needs. This space is designed to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment. Evidence-based approaches are used to support healing, growth, and personal insight.


COUPLES THERAPY

A psychotherapy session for couples to explore relationship dynamics, improve communication, and deepen emotional connection. This service supports partners in navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, and enhancing intimacy.


FAMILY THERAPY

A psychotherapy session supporting families in improving connection, communication, and problem-solving. This therapy focuses on relational patterns and family dynamics, helping family members work through conflict and foster greater understanding in a safe, respectful space.


EMDR THERAPY

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based approach used to process trauma, distressing memories, and stuck emotional responses. The session includes preparation, resourcing, and processing phases tailored to your readiness.

You’re exhausted from trying to make it work. The distance, miscommunication, and silence after fights, it’s all starting to feel like too much. You want to feel close again, but the path forward feels unclear. You don’t have to figure it out alone. I help couples slow things down, rebuild trust after betrayal, and reconnect in a deeper, more secure way. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, grief, or stuck relationship patterns. Together, we’ll make sense of your emotions and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT). I also integrate EMDR to process trauma, DBT to manage intense emotions, CBT to shift unhelpful thinking, and Solution-Focused Therapy to build on your strengths. I work from a trauma-informed, client-centred lens—always at your pace, always in collaboration.

With a background as a Registered Nurse and Developmental Service Worker, I bring both clinical skill and deep empathy to our sessions.
